Grammatical and semantic analysis of verbs in two possessor raising movement structures

A comparison between the verbs in two possessor raising movement structures was made,namely,the passive sentence maintaining object and the so-called possessor-subject possessee-object sentence.The comparison focused on the grammatical and semantic features of the verbs.From the perspective of grammar,transitive verbs and ditransitive verbs can be used in passive sentence maintaining object;while potential transitive verbs go to possessorsubject possessee-object sentence.As far as the semantic feature is concerned, verbs in the two structures both carry negative meanings.Their meanings are closely related to the meanings of the subjects,and the incidents caused by the verbs have great negative influence on the subjects.
