| Abstract: | The article discusses the situation of ESI changing in Huzhou city from 1993 to 2007 with the method of emergy analysis,then observes the level of sustainable development in Huzhou city quantitatively.The result shows that index of sustainable development in Huzhou city decrease from 102,1993 to 4.09,2006.To be specific,the index drop sharply from 1993 to 1995 and from1998 to 2000,then increase gradually from 1995 to 1998 and decline slowly after 2000.The ESI index changing slowly shows the capacity of sustainable development enhancing,and also depicts the development process in Huzhou city after 2000 are not only attaches great importance to economic development but also to eco-environment protection under urbanization as well as establish harmony rela-tionship between eco-social development and environmental protection gradually,leading to achieve sustainable development. |
