《汇报》与其天文地理知识传播

目的整理《汇报》更名初期(第100号—第211号)中天文地理知识的传播,为研究晚清中文期刊的演化提供新的文献线索。方法原始期刊文献分析和考证法。结果通过对《汇报》更名初期第100号—第211号共112期的统计表明,有关自然科学知识传播内容的篇目共412篇,其中,地理学62篇以人文地理为主;天文学30篇主要以连载科学巨著《西学关键》为主,大体介绍了17,18世纪以来天文学基础知识。结论人文地理方面,与《益闻录》相比,《汇报》明显偏重于对各国政治概况的介绍,这无疑与当时局势变化密切关联,有效达到了"启民智"的效用,促进了民族觉醒,为中国资产阶级思想的萌芽做出积极贡献。然而,其积极传播自然科学的出发点始终在于宣传天主教教义,从某种程度上讲,大力传播西学是传教士期刊进行迂回传教的一种手段,其根本目的并非是为求中国实现富国强兵。

Revue Pour Tous and the spread of astronomical and geographical knowledge

Aim To sort the spread of astronomical and geographical knowledge in the beginning since Revue Pour Tous changed its name(Issue 100-Issue 211) and supply new reference clues for the studies of the development of Chinese journals during the late Qing period.Methods Reference analysis of the original journals and the research method.Results By the statistics of 112 issues(Issue 100-Issue 211) of Revue Pour Tous since it just has changed its name,it′s found that there were about 412 articles regarding the spread on the natural science knowledge,in which 62 articles on geography were mainly about human geography;30 articles of astronomy focused on the serialization of the scientific work,Key to Western Studies,introducing the basic knowledge of astronomy since the 17th and 18th century.Conclusion From the human geography aspect,compared with Yiwenlu,Revue Pour Tous clearly centered on the introduction of political profile of every country,which was undoubtedly correlated with the changes of the political situation at that time,which had better helping "enlightening the people",accelerating the awaking of the nation and making positive contributions to the emergence of Chinese bourgeois ideas;however,the initial point for actively spreading the natural sciences always lay on promoting the dogma of Catholicism.From a certain point of view,disseminating western studies was just a roundabout means for the missionary journals to preach and its real purpose was not to help China to become rich and build up its military power.
