Abstract:Aiming at the bending stiffness of the full composite orthogonal grid/trapezoidal corrugated sandwich panel, an analysis model based on two-variable refined plate theory was proposed. The two kinds of cores were equivalent to orthotropic continuum using the homogenization theory, and the differential equation for the bending balance of the sandwich panel was derived based on the two-variable high-order shear deformable theory displacement field and the principle of minimum potential energy. Utilizing the two-variable solution of bending deflection and shear deflection under two boundary conditions, four sides simply supported, loading opposite sides simply supported and the others free, the overall stiffness of the sandwich panel was calculated. The errors between the analytical calculation and the finite element simulation were within ±6%, which validated the correctness and effectiveness of the analytical model. The results of the parameter analysis show that the corrugated core has greater enhancement effect on the bending stiffness than the grid core, and the lightweight effect of the composite corrugated sandwich panel is more significant; increasing the number of panels or the height of the core will significantly improve the bending stiffness and specific bending stiffness of this two kinds of sandwich panels.
