| Abstract: | This paper investigates the static schema and dynamic schema of the preposition on from the perspective of cognition,and offers examples to classified semantic meanings which are extended by means of spatial metaphors.Finally,based on the Corpus of Contemporary American English(COCA),this paper analyzes the use of metaphorical meanings of the preposition on in spoken language. |
