| Abstract: | A new formula for coupling coefficient of polarization maintaining fiber coupler has been derived from coupling mode theory.The formula, which is quite simple and can be used quite easily, is appropriate for any fiber with core of both circular and noncircular crossections and for nonaligned optical axes as well. |
