| Abstract: | In "filial devotion", the author described the psycholoyical process of the heroine DU Xing-qiu. In the novel, we can see the rebellious women influenced deeply by the May 4th Movement of 1919. They seemed to break with old world resolutely, but inwardly they also burdened the traditionai culture, which was illutrated from their insufficieut independence and repeatedly eulogizing over mother love. |
