“塑圣”杨惠之的雕塑艺术

杨惠之做的雕塑，从形式上看有两大特点：第一是“塑”，属于雕塑中的加法，他较少制作雕刻艺术，最突出成就也是泥塑艺术。第二是对雕塑进行着色妆彩。杨惠之的画技不输于吴道子，故而对雕塑妆彩后，显得更为生动逼真。他是唐代第一个把写实风格引入雕塑艺术的人，他的泥塑作品能较好的抓住人物的外貌特征与神情特点，这在当时被认为合乎相术，时人称为“古今绝技”。他成功地把张僧繇的绘画风格运用到雕塑方面，有“天下第一”的盛誉，赢得了与“画圣”吴道子同等地位的称谓——“塑圣”。

He utilizes successfully Zhang Sengyao＇ s drawing style to sculpture aspect, and has the high reputation of ＂the first under heaven＂ . He has won the equal status name ＂sculpture sage＂ with ＂the picture Sage＂ Wu Daozi.
