Abstract:Effects of forest on runoff in more than 30 middle basins of Xiang River and Guan River were discussed in this paper. There were different impacts of forest on annual flow and underflow. The results indicated that forest reduced annual flow in the same elevation zone; and increased undenflow with the interarction of forest and its soil. In addition, forest obviously reduced surface runoff, increaced under flow in flood season and altered the time distribution of runoff as well.
