SIMILAR ISOPARAMETRIC ELEMENTS

Abstract:In this paper the concept of similar elements has been extended to the ease of highly accurate but arbitrary isoparametric elements. For lack of special expressiona for the stiffness matrix for isoparametric elements, some demonstrations are required.By means of finite similar isoparametrie element schemes the problem of stress concentration can be solved with high accuracy; and the computation problem of the stress-intensity factor can also be solved with the help of infinite similar isoparametrie elements.
