试论教会学校和上海教育近代化的关系

19、20世纪之交,英美等西方列强的基督教会和天主教会在上海乃至中国各地陆续建立了教会学校。这些教会学校一方面对中国学生大力传播基督教的教义文化,另一方面也以其教育文化有力冲击着当时的封建教育思想、制度、模式及形式,尤其对于上海教育的近代化具有相当的垂范作用。在中国教育走向世界、走向现代化和走向未来的伟大改革进程中,重新审视教会学校的教育制度、内容、形式和方法,将给我们以重要的启迪。

On the Relations between Missionary Schools and the Modernization of Education in Shanghai

At the turn of the 19~(th) and 20~(th) centuries,Great Britain,the USA and some other Western powers began to set up missionary schools in Shanghai and other cities in China.These schools not only spread Christian culture among the Chinese students but also exerted great influence on the then feudal educational thought,system,model and form with their education and culture.However,they also promoted the modernization of education in Shanghai.In the great reform course when China's(education) is advancing toward the world,toward modernization and toward the future,it has significant implications for us to(re-examine) the educational system,content,form and methods of the missionary schools.
