太行山猕猴掌骨性差分析

摘    要:目的是用猕猴掌骨变量建立性别判别函数.成年太行山猕猴骨骼标本39例(27雌,12雄).每根掌骨测量7个变量.数据分析采用SPSS 20.0.建立逐步判别函数.选择出来的性差较大的变量直接进行判别分析.结果表明大部分变量性差显著(P<0.01),侧别差异很小(P>0.05).逐步判别函数选择出来最好的变量是掌骨长度.总体上5根掌骨的性别正确判别率较高,雄性判别率为83.3%~100.0%,雌性判别率为85.2%~100.0%,总的性别判别率达84.6%~94.7%.交互检验比回代检验判别率略微低一些.结果提示用掌骨长度变量可以很好的鉴定性别.

Sex Dimorphism of Metacarpal of Macaca mulatta

Abstract:The aim of this study was to develop discriminant function formulae to determine sex from the metacarpals of Macaca mulattain central China.The data for this study comprise 39 adult skeletons of Macaca mulatta(27female and 12male)from the Taihang Mountains.Seven measurements on each bone were recorded.Data were analyzed using SPSS version20.0.Stepwise discriminant functions were performed using all seven variables for each metacarpal bone.Only those variables that best distinguished between the sexes were selected and subjected to direct discriminant analysis.Statistically significant differences(p<0.01)were found between males and females for most of variables,with very small bilateral differences.In the stepwise discriminant function the following variables were selected first:the length for all metacarpals.Generally,the accuracies are high,ranging from 83.3%to 100.0%for males and 84.6%to 100.0%for female,dropping slightly on cross-validation.Direct analyses using single variables produced accuracies ranging from 84.6%to 94.7%.Measurements of the metacarpals appear to be good discriminators of sex with overall classification accuracies ranging between 84.6%and 97.4%.
