徘徊于自由与功利之间--沈从文文学观新论

沈从文不是超然于世外的作家。其文学观呈现出鲜明的两面性。一方面张扬文学本体性，致力于文学独立自由，拒斥政治，商业对文学的侵蚀。另一方面，又继承了五四文学启蒙，改造国民性的传统，把文学作为社会改造的工具，有浓厚的功利色彩。其自由观与功利观分别有其合理性与局限性，貌似对立，实现有内在一致性。

Wandering Between Freedom and Utility--New Theories On Shen Congwen's Views on Literature

Shen Congwen does not live in a detached world . There are striking dual nature in his views on literature . On the one hand , he advocates the noumenon of literature and works for the independent freedom of literature against the erosion of politics and commerce to literature .On the other hand ,he inherits the enlightening and citizen reforming traditions of May4th literature , and he takes literature as a tool to reform the society . His views on literature wears a strong feature of utility. There is reasonableness and limitation in his views of freedom and utility on literature which looks contradictory but identical in fact.
