| Abstract: | Starting form information theory, the correlation properties between primary se- quence and secondary structure of protein were researched. Informational redundancies were calculated which are yielded form the correlation between single-or poly-peptide s and conformations, while the statistical independence hypothesis tests were per- formed. The results show that both single-and poly-peptides have strong correlation with conformations. Therefore, the information provided by the correlation between po ly-peptides and conformations will play an important part in prediction of protein sec ondary structure. |
