Some Reflections on Arguments of Epistemic Injustice in the Field of Medical Care

Carel and Kid argued that the concept of“epistemic injustice”proposed by Miranda Fricker also exists in the field of medical care,including testimonial injustice and hermenutical injustice.This paper contends that the significant difference between the field of medical care and the typical field of epistemic injustice is the asymmetry of expertise between doctors and patients,and understanding of patients’testimony depends on knowledge context and doctors’expertise.Therefore,expressing these problems with the concept of epistemic injustice will cover up the deeper interaction between the two kinds of knowledge to a certain extent.
