论“燕许”对后进文士的荐引之功

苏颋、张说并称“燕许”，他们身居相位而好尚文学，对后进文士多有荐引、奖拔之举。苏颋之于李白、郑虔，张说之于张九龄、王翰等，二人的延引与提携多有其功而值得关注。在文学由初唐向盛唐过渡之际，起到了积极的推动作用。同时这一问题又不宜过于夸大。贺知章、李泌等非张说所提携者。

On Su Ting's and Zhang Shui's Merit of Recommendation of Less Advanced Scholars

Su Ting and Zhang Shui,called"Yan-Xu",ofen recommended or promoted less advanced scholars,for they were Prime Ministers and fond of literature.They played an active and important role in propelling the literature from the initial Tang to the Bril-liant Tang Dynasty,by recommending Li Bai,Zheng Qian and Zhang Jiuling,Wang Han respectivly.We should lay emphasis on this fact but we cannot exaggerate it.Actually,He Zhizhang and Li Mi were not recommended by Zhang Shui.
