Abstract:Opto-electronic molecular devices could be classified into three kinds. The elementary structures of them are presented in this paper. It is pointed out that the elementary excitation theory on charge transfer system can be employed to analyze several important physical processes in opto- electronic molecular devices. Some basic principles on the device design are obtained. The method developed by the authors has succeeded in analying the conducting mechanism and switching property of M-TCNQ. The crystal structure of Cu-TCNQ and the explanation to the electronic switching effect of Cu-TCNQ are given out first time.
