Abstract:In this paper, we report the synthesis, characterization and properties of coordination compounds resulting from benzoylacetone (B) and diantipyrylmethane (D) with rare earth elements (except for Ce) in the alcohol system. These new compounds were characterized by elemental analyses, IR, UV, fluorimetric spectra, TG and DTA meth-ods. The data indicate all the new compounds are composed of REB_3D,and have no melt-ing points.The Study on the NMR shifting effects indicates that PrB_3D makes shift upfield whereas EuB_3D and TbB_3D downfield. YnB_3D results in the most prominent downfield NMR shifting effect. SmB_3D,EuB_3D and TbB_3D exhibit fluorescence.
