The Images of "Scapegoat" in Paradise Written by Toni Morrison

Based on the theory of archetypal criticism,this paper attempts to analyze the "scapegoat" images in Morrison's Paradise from the aspects of racism and violence,so as to reveal Morison's ironic imitation and overturning to the American history and ideology of the mainstream society,and her reflection and criticism to the racial superiority and violent politics as well as the problems of the African Americans.
