Iconicity reflects the relationship between language and thought. Human thought has the universal side, but English and Chinese nations long-term living in different geographical and historical environment, their understanding of the world are also different. In observing, understanding things, they often get different effect by using different angles. And the differences of iconicity in both of the languages also reflect the cognitive differences.
