中外学术期刊栏目设置与版式设计的比较与启示

分析比较了30种中外学术期刊的栏目设置情况,结果显示:国内20种学术期刊的栏目总数为4～24,平均值为12.9;期栏目数为1～19,平均值为7.2;固定栏目数为2～6,平均值为4.0;国外10种学术期刊的栏目总数为9～23,平均值为15.9;期栏目数为5～19,平均值为11.0;固定栏目数为3～8,平均值为5.9.3项都是国内学术期刊偏低,尤其是固定栏目数相差较大,提示国内学术期刊栏目的稳定性尚待提高,一些特色栏目值得在编辑策划中予以尝试.90种中外学术期刊的版式基本情况比较结果显示:在字体、字号使用和排版分栏方面,国内外学术期刊稍有差异,但不明显;在期刊不同位置釆用特色设计的频次方面,国内期刊则明显偏少,尤其是在封页、扉页、卷首语(主持人语)和图表的设计方面,国内学术期刊有待加强.启示我国学术期刊从业人员在重视期刊内文的同时,还应在期刊的"次要部分"多下功夫.

A comparison of column setting and typographical design between Chinese and foreign academic journals and its enlightenment

A comparative study is made of column setting between 20 Chinese and 10 foreign academic journals. Results show that the column total of the 20 Chinese academic journal is 4-24 （average 12.9）, column of journal 1-19 （average 7.2）, and fixed column 2-6 （average 4.0）, and that the column total of the 10 foreign academic journal is 9-23 （average 15.9）, column of journals 5-19 （average 11.0）, and fixed column 3-8 （average 5.9）. Concerning the 3 sets of figures compared above, Chinese academic journals are lower than foreign counterparts, particularly in terms of the fixed column numbers, suggesting that the stability of Chinese academic journals is yet to be increased, and that some characteristic columns are attempt-worthy. An additional comparison of typographical design among 90 Chinese and foreign academic journals shows that there is some but not significant deferences in font, size, type-setting between Chinese and foreign academic journals. As to the frequency of characteristic design in different positions of journals, Chinese academic journals are significantly lower in, especially, the cover, the title page, the preface and chart designs, all of which are to be improved. The enlightenment is that journal staff should also work hard on the ＂secondary part＂ of journals, while much attention is paid to journal contents.
