| Abstract: | By combining the response surface technique with the framework of goal programming, a new algorithm for the multiobjective simulation optimization of complex systems has been worked out. The main advantages of this algorithm are ( 1) it has the ability to search along the quickest descent direction provided by the first-order fitted response surface; (2) when the higher goals begin to be violated, it can search along the gradient projection direction; (3 ) if there is no fit for the first-order fitted response surface at all, it can make use of the second-order fitted response surface and the random search method to test whether the optimum procedure should be stopped. The GASP IV language is used to develop GASP-GLRSM simulation optimization software package to be realized on a type IBM-PC microcomputer. The package has been used to draw up the monthly production plan of a job machining workshop in a Mechanical Works. |
