EFL环境下词汇能力与词汇习得策略

摘    要:EFL环境下评判英语学习者的词汇能力不光要看学习者的词汇量,而且还要看其所掌握词汇的深度和广度,及其习得词块和高频多义词的能力。EFL学习者要提高词汇能力,需要通过大量的阅读,借助语境推测词的概念意义,利用语境领会词汇的内涵意义和理解词汇的语用意义、确定多义词义项、消除歧义。除此之外,学习者还应该善于利用词典扩大词汇量,培养自身的学习策略意识,使用各种合适的学习策略以便提高学习效果。

Abstract:In circumstances where English is used as a foreign language, the English learner's competence in vocabulary lies not only in the amount of vocabulary he learns, but in the depth and width of the vocabulary he masters, as well as his competence in acquiring chunks and high-frequency polywords. To improve his competence in English vocabulary, the EFL leamer is expected to rely on a large amount of reading practice, making use of the context to guess the literal meaning and understand the connotative and pragmatic meaning of a word, as well as to determine the meaning of a polyword to avoid misunderstanding. Furthermore, the EFL learner is expected to make full use of dictionaries to build up his vocabulary. He is also supposed to develop awareness in learning strategies, making use of various strategies to achieve a better learning outcome.
