一种结合小波变换的矢量量化快速编码算法

研究了一种基于均方误差(MSE)测度的矢量量化快速编码算法,算法利用小波变换的特点,合理构造矢量.结合非线性插补矢量量化技术、矢量和值差法、部分失真排除法和一些典型的小波系数的极性判断,在搜索编码过程中,有效排除部分候选码字.实验结果表明,相对于穷尽搜索方法,计算量有明显降低,计算时间减少约98%.

A fast encoding algorithm for vector quantization combined with wavelet transforms

A fast encoding algorithm based on the mean square error (MSE) distortion for vector quantization is introduced. Using the wavelet transforms peculiarity, the vectors can be effectively constructed. During the search process for code,a lot of codewords can be rejected by utilizing the non-linear interpolated vector quantization (NLIVQ) technique?the partial distance search technique and the method of two vectors difference''s sum and polarity estimation of some important wavelet coefficients. Results of experiments show that the reduction of computation is about 98% in the encoding time against full search method.
