| Abstract: | In this paper,regard is paid to the key role the velocity of light in vacuum plays in the special theory of relativity.From the definition of a dimensionless velocity with the velocity of light as a standard,we derive the Lorentz transformation of velocity directly from the axioms of special relativity,then derive the Lorentz transformation of coordinates from the transformation of velocity. |
