| Abstract: | Polarization Mode Dispersion (PMD) is one of the key technologies of next generation of high speed and long haul fiber communication systems. In this paper we discuss the technologic background of PMD and why there is PMD in single mode fibers and the definision of PMD. The PSP theory of PMD is discussed in detail, including the explanation of PMD with PSP theory and the validity of this theory. |
