| Abstract: | Based on the fundamental principles of semantics,this paper explores the connotative,denotative and cognitive meaning of English and Chinese words,and proposes that the elasticity of English and Chinese words should be properly treated in the process of translation,thus the "dynamic equivalence" between the original and the target can be achieved. |
