“脏腑”译法探索

＂脏腑＂一词近几十年来出现过直译、音译、意译、音译加借用等各类译法。文章收集并归纳总结了80年代以来国内外出版的数种字典及书籍中关于＂脏腑＂的英译,借鉴目前美国中医医生操作的实际情况,认为该类术语宜采用音译或音译加借用的方法。

On the English Translations of TCM Term ＂zang-fu＂

In the past decades there have been various translations for the term ＂zang-fu＂, including literal translation, liberal translation, transliteration, borrowing, etc. Through detailed comparisons of different translations collected from dictionaries and other publications, and in the light of the actual TCM practice in the United States, we suggest that transliteration, or transliteration plus borrowing is the most suitable approach for translating this kind terms.
