| Abstract: | This paper deals with morphogenesis of the protocorm in cultures of Cymbi-dium grandiflorum. The stem apices of Cymbidium grandiflorum were excised asexplant cultured on White basic medium supplemented with certain hormone.Transfer of explants to a MS medium containing BA allowed protocorm formation.By histological analysis of developmental events during the protocorm formation,it was found that the pathway of morphogenesis of protocorm was very special. Atearly stagee, the formation of protocorm was similar to that of embryoil.But inlater stages to that of the adventitious bud. The morphogenesis of protocorm inCymbidium grandiflorum was of another different type somewhere between that ofthe embryoid and adventitious bud. |
