The cervical carcinoma is one of the most common malignant tumours with the highest global incidence of disease in South Africa and second highest in Asia. In accordance with the statistics,there are about 460,000 newly reported cases of the illness in the world annually and nearly 250,000 people die of the cervical carcinoma each year. In our country,newly reported cases of cervical carcinoma exceed 130,000 in each year and about 20,000 women die of it every year. With the progressing of the research,the relation between cervical carcinoma and HPV are being concerned largely by basic researcher and clinician. Moreover,there are more and more methods on pertinence treatments for HPV infection at present. This text specially summarize the characteristics of the disease are as follows with the relevant progress in this field.
