摘    要:本文探讨各种石英单模光纤的受激布里渊散射门限功率 ,论述影响门限功率的各种因素 ,特别是有效芯区面积 .指出一般的有效芯区面积不应当用模场直径计算 .发现由于受激布里渊散射增益和模场分布不同 ,色散位移光纤与常规单模光纤的受激布里渊散射门限功率相差无几 ,因此可以放心地在超长距离传输系统中应用色散位移类单模光纤

Abstract:This paper investigates the threshold power of stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) in a variety of single mode fiber. Discussion on various factors which have influence on the threshold power, especially the effective core area, reveals that in general the mode field diameter should not be used to determine the effective core area. It is found that the dispersion shifted single mode fiber and the conventional single mode fiber has almost the same SBS threshold power due to the SBS gain and mode field distribution differences between the two kinds of fiber. Hence the application of dispersion shifted fiber in high power and super long haul transmission systems is permitted without worring about the CNR degradation caused by the optical fiber nonlinearity.
