| Abstract: | There were many different ways to explain the outcomes of the formation of slanting fracture of cast-iron specimens in compression test, but they could not reflect the principal fact of the test. The fact that the stress is in uneven state and its action is following a certain rule is discovered after experiments and careful observation. The main deformation and failure process are explained and described qualitatively by using the method of separate parts and the hypothesis of dislocation insert of the regions of 3-D compression at two ends. |
