含左手材料光波导承载导波和表面波的模式研究

摘    要:通过转移矩阵方法理论,研究含左手材料平板波导导波模式与表面波的特性.在TE极化情况下,包裹层为金属-芯层为左手材料的3层平板波导满足导波条件时,导波层能承载新功能的导波模式;不满足导波条件时,波导的包裹层和芯层都会出现不同指数规律衰减的表面波.

The Study of Guided Wave Mode With the Left-handed Materials Bearing the Guided Wave and the Surface Wave

Abstract:The properties of the wave guided mode of the left-handed material slab waveguides as well as the surface waves are studied by means of the methods and theories of transition matrix.The experiment results prove that under the condition of TE polarization,the three-layer slab waveguide with metal as the covering layer and the left-handed materials as the core layer meets the conditions of waveguide traveling,the guided layer can bear the wave guided mode with new functions,while it does not meet the conditions of waveguide traveling,the surface waves with different exponential law attenuation appear in the three regions of the three-layer slab waveguide.
