On the use of satire in Invisible Man

Ralph Ellision's Invisible Man is a novel which uses identity crisis as its theme.Ellision inputs satirical meaning on some images appeared in this novel,e.g.Reverend Homer A.Barbee and Vision,Clifton and Sambo,the Briefcase,the Vet and the Liberty Paint Plant.Through studying the typical use of satire,we can find Ellison satirizes both the blindness of the spiritual leading and the hypocrisy of the education that African-Americans receive.It provides the profound meaning by the simple words and exposes that there is,in fact,great injustice in the racist American society.
