摘    要:发展了一种实用的对条形结构波导中光的传输特性进行模拟计算的三维标量时域有限差分(FDTD)数值计算方法,并对在电吸收调制器条形波导中的光场分布进行数值模拟计算,得到了在条形波导中光传输方向上不同横截面上的光场分布形式,这些光场分布是由波导中不同模式场叠加形成的,反映了波导中多模干涉的现象.数值模拟计算的结果与实验测试结果相一致,证明了这种三维标量FDTD法应用于条形光波导结构分析的有效性.此方法具有掌握容易,计算分析简便等优点,适用于条形结构波导的设计、模拟和特性分析.

Abstract:A practical method for simulating and calculating the transmission characteristics of optical wave in the channel waveguide is developed based on the 3_D scalar finite_difference time_domain (FDTD) technique,and applied to numerical simulation and calculation of the field distributions in the channel waveguide of EA modulator.The numerical results in terms of field distributions represent the multimode interference in the cross section of the channel waveguide. The fact that the calculated results are in good agreement with the experimental observations indicates that this method is applicable for the analysis of optical wave in a channel optical waveguide structure. This method can be easily applied to design, simulation and characteristics analysis of the channel waveguide.
