| Abstract: | With an accurate parametric equation of the contact arc,the kinematicallyadmissible velocity and strain rate fields are established in this paper.A preciseformula to calculate the average strain rate in rolling is dedued by the parametricintegral and the integral mean value theorem.It is compared with the traditionalformulas through an actual measured example. |
