| Abstract: | In modem Chinese, both ＂zai＂ （再） and ＂you＂ （又） can mean the repetition or duration of an action or a kind of state. However, they can not be interchanged under all conditions. The article investigates ＂zai＂ （再） and ＂you＂ （又） comprehensively from syntax, semantics and pragmatics on the basis of previous research. |
