| Abstract: | A study is made of the interaction between the face support and the surrounding rock, and interaction which exhibits rigidity equilibrium between the two. A relationship is established, upon this equilibrium, between the augment in the support resistance and the setting load towards a mining cycle end. Thereafter a discussion is given of the principles for determining rational setting loads under various geological conditions |
