| 摘 要： | 《红字》中错综复杂的冲突是该部作品最为引人入胜的特色。各种人物之间的冲突和人物与社会之间的冲突相互作用,最终决定了故事的结局是悲剧。综合其他的批评方法对当时清教社会及其教义进行分析,将理清故事中的冲突,进一步探究悲剧产生的原因,从而更深地解读作品。

| Abstract: | The intriguing and intricate conflicts in The Scarlet Letter have attracted great attention and interests from both readers and critics all along. The conflicts between the characters in this book, together with conflicts between the characters and the society, are inseparable ingredients of the tragic ending of this story. With other critical methods and research for reference, this thesis attempts to clear up the reticulate conflicts on the basis of a review of the Puritan society and its tenets, aiming at a better understanding of the tragedy. |
