科学起源的技术传统与精神传统为科学植入了技术意志和人文理想的双重文化基因.正是这双重文化基因,使科学具有了对于技术和人文的双向推动和中介转化作用,进而为科学在适宜的社会条件下扬弃技术和人文两者片面的对立性存在,实现对技术文化与人文文化的超越提供了可能.为此,我们必须洗清附加在科学身上的工具理性"原罪",赋予包括自然科学、社会科学和人文科学在内的人类科学活动新的意义.

On the Intermediary Role and Transcendental Significance of Science to Technology and Humanism

Both technological and spiritual traditions of science bring the dual cultural genes to science: technology and humanism. It is the dual genes that endow science with the function of two-way push and medium transformation on technology and humanism. Furthermore, they make it possible for science to sublate the unilateral antithesis between technology and humanism and to transcend both technological and humanistic cultures under suitable social conditions. For this reason we must clear away the "original crime" of instrumental rationality attached to science, and give new significance to whole scientific pursuits of mankind inclusive of natural science, social science and the humanities.
