| Abstract: | In this paper the performance of doublegrating interferometers is analysized by means of higher-order approximate diffraction theoryThe general conditions are derived under which the system forms high contrast fringe pattern when illuminated with incoherent source. Through fu. rther analysis, it is shown that even under illumination of any and all lightwaves, the grating interferometers designed according to the derived conditions can yield perfect equalsoacing straight fringe patterns. The experiment and theoretical results are in good agreement. |
