双语教学中母语与英语平行发展探讨

本文从我国学术界对双语教学的不同观点入手，分析了双语教学的优点和我国发展双语教学的重要性，指出我国在实行双语教学时，要注意保持母语和英语的平行发展，既要强化母语的优势，保证中华文明的延续和发展，又要兼顾现代社会国际化的发展趋势。重视英语作为国际语言的地位，提高学生的英语应用能力，培养二十一世纪的现代化国际型人才。

On the Relationship between Chinese and English in Bilingual Teaching

Beginning with the dispute on bilingual teaching in academic circles,this paper analyses the advantages and significance of bilingual teaching,pointing out that special attention must be paid to the balanced development of the mother tongue and the foreign language,that is,not only should we strengthen our mother language to ensure continuity and development of Chinese civilization,but also pay attention to the status of English as an international language,so as to improve students' ability in language using and to cultivate international talents for the 21st century.
