Historic Exploration of the Anglo-American War of 1812

The second independence war of 1812 was important in the American history. Its importance lay in that the war changed the mercantile system of America formed ever since the colonial period, and began its national in-dustrialization process, further won the popular support, then made the nation more united. The result of the war promoted the growth in the national military power so as to provide the assurance of strength for the western expan-sion of America and the spread of its influence in South America, changed the tense situation with Britain, conse-quently having avoided the possible confrontation with Britain and having provided a superior external environment for America’s rising up.
