| Abstract: | In this paper an optimal cascade block coding scheme for binary image data compression is developed. Its principle is to recursively apply the prefix block coding technique to the sucessive levels of pyramid representation of binary image, and find the minimum number of coded bits, in order to obtain the maximum data compression ratio. |
