Summary The thermogenic response to injections of noradrenaline at thermoneutrality was substituted by thermogenesis at low ambient temperatures. This demonstrates that noradrenaline-induced heat production is equivalent to physiologically induced nonshivering thermogenesis during cold exposure.Supported by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (He 990). |
