Abstract:At present, mineral and chemical composition in bauxite can be analyzed by many methods and instruments, such as the scanning electron microscopy (SEM) , the electronic probe micro-analyzer ( EPMA ) , the x-ray diffraction ( XRD ) , the inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) and the x-ray fluorescence spectrometry (XRF). The accuracy and speed in the bauxite geological research has been improved by the involvement of these new methods and instruments. The techniques and their growing application in the bauxite geological research is detailed analyzed.
