淮南三王佛道思想之比较

“淮南三王”王艮、王栋、王襞三人在思想上有继承关系,但在佛道问题上却有不同的认识。王艮以正宗儒学家自居,但也承认佛道有佛道的作用,所以他虽然对佛道不感兴趣,但也不排斥佛道。王栋强调经世济用,他认为儒学主于经世,而佛道清虚寂静,不能为社会所用,所以他讨厌佛道,排斥佛道。王襞与他们截然不同,他高度认识佛道的功能,并钟情于佛道,成为泰州学派中少有的佛道热心人。

The Comparison of Buddhism and Taoism among the Three Wangs of Huainan

Abstract Wang Gen, Wang Dong and Wang Bi, called by ＂The Three Wangs of Huainan＂ have some relation of inherit- ance in thought, but in the Buddhist issue they have different understandings. Wang Gen calls himself authentic Confucian, but ac- knowledges the roles of Buddhism and Taoism. So he does not exclude Buddhism and Taoism even if he has no interests. Wang Dong emphasizes pragmatic aspects of thought and holds that Confucianism is used by society but Taoism cannot, so he eliminates Buddhism and Taoism. Compared with them, Wang Bi highly recognizes the function of Buddhism and Taoism, and devotes to them as a member of Taizhou school.
