This paper briefly expounds the important significance of reside nt ial buildings' energy conservation, the contents and target of energy conservati on, and the main channels for buildings' energy conservation, and in the light o f the problems existing in the work of buildings' energy conservation and the re quirements of the new standard of energy conservation design, this paper puts fo rward some matters needing attention in energy conservation design for residenti al buildings' heat supply from aspects of buildings' orientation and volumetric coefficient, exterior protected construction design, and heat supply system desi gn, etc.
