How to Treat the Controversy between WANG Shuo and JIN Yong

The paper, in a broad sense, comments on the controversy between WANG Shuo and JIN Yong in literature field a short time before. It is believed that the controversy is caused by the different views of literature groups. WANG Shuo is a common writer among the elegant ones in Beijing's cultural group, while JIN Yong is an elegant writer among the common ones in Hong Kong and Tai Wan cultural group. WANG challenged JIN, but on one hand, the former was not capable enough, on the other hand, he chose the wrong opponent. Though WANG was straight forward in character and appeared naive, he faulted on the right side and broke the depressing balance between the two groups. WANG's swift knife hardly touched the target, while Jin's weakness lay in his lack of Cervantes Saavedra's insight into history.
