Abstract: | ![]() Summary Crosslinked foils of pure (commercial) polyvinylalcohol, swollen in an acetate-puffer (pH=5), in presence of 2-methylnaphtochinon 1,4 and platinum are found to act as redox-muscles contracting and dilating when treated with hydrogen and oxygen.Mechanical stretching of the filaments is associated with a shift of the redox-potential. |
